Billy’s pop Idol goal

WISHAW man, Billy Warren is hoping to break into the big time by winning the Idol 2008 talent competition.

Singer Billy (28), from Netherton, has made it through to the regional finals of this year’s event to be held in the Royal Concert Hall, Glasgow on November 2.

The competition offers singers and dancers the chance to win up to £25,000 in prizes if crowned the UK’s Idol 2008 and also gives them the opportunity to perform live in front of large audiences.

If Billy is successful, he will get win a recording contract and release a single with the aim to nationally chart.

Billy said: “I’m absolutely delighted to have made it through to the regional final and I’m really looking forward to it. I’ll give it my best shot to win and make it through to the national final, and then who knows?”
