Ellen met her pop idol Paul

NETHERTON woman Ellen Campbell was delighted to meet one of her idols from her teenage years – Manfred Mann singer Paul Jones.

Ellen was at Southport Arts Centre last weekend to see him perform.

She enthused: “Paul was charming and he looked so young for his age. He told me his mother is alive and kicking at 97 years of age, so it must mean he has good family genes.”

In fact, Ellen surely booked to see him perform again as he appeared at Motherwell Concert Hall last night fronting The Manfreds in a nationwide tour.
