African children’s choir will perform in county

THE internationally acclaimed African Children's Choir will be performing a concert on Wednesday, June 17, at Dalziel St. Andrew's Parish Church, The Cross, Motherwell at 7.30pm.

The choir is comprised of 24 South African children, aged seven to eleven, who have each lost one parent to poverty or AIDS.

The concert includes well-loved children's songs, popular gospel tunes and lively spirituals.

A spokesperson for the church said: “Through their songs and dances, the choir brings Africa alive, in all its colour and splendour, creating a truly unforgettable musical experience.”

Tickets for the concert cost £5, and will be available at the door.

They can also be obtained by telephone from the church office on 01698 264097 on Monday, Wednesday or Friday mornings.

A freewill offering will be taken at the performance to support African Children's Choir education, care and emergency relief programmes.
