Allanah raises cash for charity

WISHAW woman Allanah Tudhope displayed grit and determination to complete the Edinburgh marathon recently, despite the reoccurrence of a long-term hip injury.

Brave Allanah (24), who is studying for a degree in finance, investment and risk at Glasgow’s Caledonian University, raised £3500 for the Children’s Hospice Association of Scotland.

She said: “I was delighted to complete the race despite the injury and particularly pleased to raise such a healthy sum for CHAS.

“I’d like to thank everyone who sponsored and helped me organise the charity night earlier this year.”

After completing the marathon in six hours and three minutes, Allanah vowed never to attempt another. However, she now wants to beat her time and aims to run another marathon when she completes her course at university.
