SCOTTISH rockers La Paz are heading back to Wishaw to perform at Zico Bar on Thursday, June 18, following their successful gig there back in February.
The powerful, melodic rock band toured extensively during the 1980s and built up quite a following on the live circuit. However, vocalist Doogie White headed off to London where he eventually joined Ritchie Blackmore in his final Rainbow line-up.
But last January, Doogie and guitarist Chic McSherry were invited to play at the 96.3 Rock Radio’s 1st Birthday Party in Glasgow’s Garage. That night was the first time they’d played together in almost 19 years and they had so much fun it convinced the five band members that they should continue gigging.
Their earlier show at Zico’s was billed as a tribute to Deep Purple and Rainbow and was well received.
This time round the set will be predominantly original songs. Support act for the Wishaw gig will be Crossfire and admission is £5.
