Riders will be jumping for charity

THE team at Jumps Equestrian Centre in Carluke are all set to raise funds for a worthy cause.

For the team will be taking part in The Blooming Great Tea Party to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer Care Nurses.

Competitors with both horses and ponies are invited to have tea and cake while participating in an evening showjumping event which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, July 1.

The competition has been devised to encourage both adults and children, of all levels of riding ability, to enjoy the thrill of competition whilst donating a proportion their entry fees to this most worthwhile cause.

To show their support for the charity, riders are being asked to wear something yellow and/or blue during the event.

Spectators are also very welcome to come along and watch the competition and support the riders throughout the event.

A donation of £1 per adult will be added to the funds.

A spokesperson said that they are hoping for a lot of support for the event from throughout the local area.
