Shotts woman is Star in a Bra model finalist

A SHOTTS woman has become one of only two Scots to make it to the finals of a national modelling competition.

Nadine Kennedy (28), beat 1200 entrants from all over the UK to become one of the last 30 in the Star in a Bra 2009 contest.

The former pupil of St Aidan’s High School, Wishaw, originally entered the contest – organised by online lingerie shop Brastop.com – for a laugh after being encouraged by her partner.

She said: “After a couple of glasses of wine we took some pictures, posted them through and never thought anything else of it. It was really surprising to be in the finals because I just done it for a laugh. I knew they were looking for curvy girls but I never expected to actually get through.

“I’ve been using the website for a couple of years because of my larger bust and they supply a whole range of bras that I use. I actually thought about entering it last year, but never went through with it.”

She added: “People have been telling how great I look in my underwear, so it’s been absolutely brilliant.”

If Nadine gets through to the final top ten after this stage, she will travel to London where she’ll receive a professional makeover and photoshoot before the final public vote in July.

The winner of the competition will model for Brastop.com’s Autumn/Winter collection, as well as becoming the face of their Curvy Kate underwear range and will also take away a year’s supply of lingerie.

Nadine added: “There are a lot of lovely girls who are slim and big chested but I’m one of the curvier girls – so it would be great to get some support for the ordinary woman.”
