Get on your marks for charity fundraiser

PEOPLE in Wishaw are being urged to move quickly to take up the challenge to Run 10km for Cancer Research UK at Strathclyde Country Park as places are filling up fast for the event on Sunday, October 26.

The Strathclyde Country Park Run 10k event will raise vital funds towards Cancer Research UK’s ground-breaking research, and is a perfect opportunity to get into the great outdoors and help in the fight against cancer.

Helen Webster, Cancer Research UK’s organiser for the event, said: “The course goes through such a beautiful location and is proving extremely popular – hundreds of people have already signed up.

“We want to warn people that they will have to be quick to secure their spot on the starting line. Running 10k is a good target for many people with a bit of training and completing the distance will give them a great sense of achievement.

“We need local people to rise to the challenge of taking part in Run 10k and to help us continue our life-saving work.

“This is why we’re urging people in Strathclyde to come and join us and to challenge their friends and family to take part with them.”
