Nadine makes it to finals of modelling competition

A WISHAW-BORN beauty has become the only Scottish girl to make it to the top 10 of a national modelling competition.

Nadine Kennedy (26), who now lives in Shotts, entered the Star in a Bra 2009 competition along with 1200 girls from all over the UK earlier this year.

Former St Aidan’s High pupil Nadine entered the competition as a laugh whenher partner took photos of her aftera few glasses of wine, but was amazedwhen she made it to the top 30 earlier last month.

And now, after several weeks of public voting, the South Lanarkshire Council customer services officer has made it into the top 10 of the competition.

For the next stage of the competition Nadine travelled with her partner toLondon last week where she receiveda professional makeover and photoshoot –an experience she described as “unforgettable.”

She said: “It was an incredible week and an unforgettable time for me. I never expected to be there in the first place because all the girls are so beautiful and especially being one of the larger girls I never thought I’d get to the top 10.

“Everyone was great though. The team in London really know how to build up your confidence. The most daunting part for me was when I first went out in front of the photographer and had to drop my house coat.

“I’ve never done any modelling before, so the prospect of everyone seeing me in the flesh was a little scary, but the photographer was fantastic and after a couple of minutes I just started posing.”

She added: “I’m the only Scots girl left in the competition and I would love to win, go back down and do that all again.”

A spokesperson for lingerie website Brastop.com, the competition organisers, said that Nadine was a “natural” and that she seemed to really enjoy it.

The images from Nadine’s photoshoot will today be going to an online public vote, along with the other 10 girls, to determine the overall winner of the competition.

The winner will be named on July 27 and will model for Brastop.com’s autumn/winter collection, as well as becoming the face of their Curvy Kate underwear rangeand will also take away a year’s supply of lingerie.
