Be in Belhaven rocks Wishaw

THE second Be in Belhaven (BiB) music festival took place in Wishaw last Saturday.

And not even the dreadful early morning weather could dampen spirits.

The afternoon sunshine added to a memorable event for musicians and spectators alike, who once again turned up in their thousands.

Event organiser Helen Keenan said: “The day really lived up to expectations and I’d like to thank each and every one of the 10,000 people who came along and made B in Belhaven 2009 such a great success.

“Everything went really smoothly and there were so many highlights but I’d like to say a special well done to my younger brother Jamie who performed on eight separate occasions over the course of the day.

“In terms of money raised for Oxjam and Maggie’s, I’ll have a final total soon but from the collections taken on Saturday we have almost £4000. A fantastic achievement.”
