Macmillan Charity Walk
FAMILIES are being urged to make time to go for a walk together whilst helping raise vital funds for charity.
Macmillan Cancer Support are encouraging families to take part in a fundraising walk taking place at Strathclyde Park on Sunday, July 1.
Their efforts will support Miles for Macmillan, the charity’s walking programme, which is organised with support from Boots, with the aim of raising £1.8million for people who are affected by cancer.
Macmillan’s Lanarkshire fundraising manager Angela McCormack said: “A walk as a family is a great way to spend time together.
“You can have fun whilst having the knowledge too that you will be raising money to fund vital services for people affected by cancer.”
It couldn’t be easier to take part, simply visit www.macmillan.org.uk\walking and register for the Strathclyde Park walk and help raise £1.8million to help Macmillan provide medical, financial, practical and emotional support to the two million people living with cancer in the UK.
Supporters have the option to hold their own walk by choosing a date and route, and inviting friends, family or colleagues to join them and get sponsored for their efforts.
Macmillan Cancer Support and Boots UK are inviting people to enjoy the great outdoors and get active to help improve the lives of people in their community living with cancer.
