Ross Bowman leaving Hamilton Sheriff Court
A paedophile who shared sickening child porn online has been told to ready himself for a jail sentence.
Ross Bowman (21), of Airbles Tower, Motherwell known online as Boylove1995 recently pled guilty to hoarding 6665 vile images and movies of children on a laptop and external hard-drive at his home address last year.
The pervert admitted charges of making and possessing indecent or pseudo-photographs of children across a four-month period in 2011, when he appeared before the Sheriff at Hamilton earlier this month.
Bowman was busted with the colossal haul of images and movies after an intelligence operation north and south of the border.
Fiscal depute Jackie Spiers told the court that on August 17, 2011, an intelligence report was received which said that at 8.20am on May 18, 2011, an internet protocol address depicting child abuse images was involved in file sharing.
The address was registered to Bowmans Airbles Tower home.
On September 16, further intelligence received via West Midlands Police claimed that the user Boylove1995 was making indecent images and movies of children available to share online.
On October 11, a warrant was granted to search Bowmans address. Police attended and seized a laptop from his bedroom, which had a user account in the name of Ross.
On the laptop, 3365 still images of children graded between levels one and five - five the most serious were recovered. The laptop also contained 130 moving images, all between levels one and five.
Both the images and movies were located in what Spiers described as a highly organised folder structure which was easily accessible, with names indicative of indecent images of children.
Bowman had used a file sharing application to download 1486 of the images graded levels one to four - and to make them available to other users between July 11, 2011, and October 20, 2011. The 21-year-old had also used the applications chat feature to discuss the sharing of images with other users.
As well as his laptop, police also seized an external hard-drive located in Bowmans room. The hard-drive contained 3089 indecent images and 81 movies, ranging between grading levels one and five, again organised in a folder structure.
In total, Bowman was in possession of 6665 indecent still and moving images of children across the two devices. Of those files, 796 were graded either level four or five.
Bowmans defence told Sheriff Brown that she didnt really have anything else to add to the evidence provided to the court, but added that there may have been a certain amount of duplication in the 6665 files.
Sheriff Brown then told Bowman that he can expect a custodial sentence based on the seriousness of the charges to which he had pled guilty.
The case was then adjourned for sentencing until November 22 to allow for a Criminal Justice Social Work report to be compiled on Bowman.
He was released on bail and placed on the sexual register.
Investigations by the Wishaw Press show that as well as downloading sickening sexual images of kids, Bowman also lied about himself online.
The former Braidhurst High School pupil worked as a bar man at M&Ds theme park from May 2010 until he left last winter.
Despite his manual role within the amusement park, Bowman claims on his Facebook profile to be an assistant manager.
M&Ds rubbished the 21-year-olds boast, confirming he was just a barman.
A spokesperson for M&Ds, said: Ross Bowman was employed between 2010 and November 2011.
His offence did not occur in relation to his employment with us, so it would be inappropriate to comment.
