First Christmas for 16 tots born in same street during six month period

The pitter-patter of tiny feet is growing ever louder on the Morningside Gardens estate.

Back in July we told how 16 babies had been born there in just six months, encouraging a pair of enterprising parents to set up the Morningside Mums Facebook page, to help bring the community together.

Since then, another two babies have been born and an additional pair of expectant couples have moved to the estate, which will bring the grand total of tots on the estate to 20.

Victoria Dempsey has been the sales consultant at the Stewart Milne Homes development for just over a year and has become something of an honorary auntie to the new arrivals. At the weekend she organised a party to mark the babies’ first Christmas.

Victoria said: “With so many babies celebrating their first Christmas this year, it seems sensible to do so as one joint party, otherwise it’d be January before we got through them all!”

The Morningside Mums gathered in the development’s showhome for coffee and mince pies while the children were treated to some early Christmas gifts.
