PUPILS from Our Lady's High School recently got down and dirty with the Royal Marines when they visited 45 Commando headquarters in Arbroath.
The ‘Meet the Marines’ event brought young people from schools and colleges face to face with the commandos.
The youngsters learned about the life of a Royal Marine.
There were displays and they also had the opportunity to participate in activities such as a climbing wall and lessons on survival in tough environments.
The pupils had the chance to get a feel for the operational kit a Marine must carry when on patrol and enjoyed paintballing, abseiling, unarmed combat.
They also tasted the commando ration packs.
The Marines aim to show the teenagers that the strength of mind needed to become a commando is valuable in all walks of life.
