Gala performances at schools choir festival

MOTHERWELL’S Cathedral Primary and Newarthill’s St Teresa’s Primary will send their school choirs to the ninth Lanarkshire Schools Choir Festival.

The 2009 Choir Festival will be held in Motherwell Concert Hall on Thursday, May 28, and will be compered by Motherwell-born and internationally recognised mezzo-soprano Linda Ormiston.

Trumpeter Lee Mackie, from Brannock High School in Newarthill, will also perform at the event which has always attracted a full house.

Tickets are available from the primary schools which are taking part.
