THE SQA exams have started in the school. This is a very important year for Dalziel, with all S3 ands S4 pupils embarking on their Standard Grade Exams.
APRIL saw 44 excited pupils and five brave teachers visit Paris by coach for art and design trip. They stayed at an amazing hotel in the Euro Disney Park and had use of the coach when visiting Paris.
The first two days were spent in Paris, absorbing the atmosphere and visiting all the amazing sights. They saw the Notre Dame Cathedral, The Pompidou Centre and The Louvre. Everyone walked up the hundreds of steps to see the Sacre Couer and of course get one of the best views of the city.
The next two days were spent in Disneyland and the Walt Disney Studios. It was a busy, adventurous, jam-packed trip that ran very smoothly due to excellent behaviour from all pupils.
DALZIEL’S annual Summer Fayre will take place in the school grounds on Wednesday, June 3, from 3 to 4.15pm. Parents are asked for donations for the book/DVD and grocery stalls. Items can be handed into school or sent with pupils any time up until the day of the fayre.
There will be many stalls including the popular tombola and cake and candy. All are welcome.
THE RM ICT Tour Bus has been stopping at 36 locations around the country in March and April to take ICT to schools, and Dalziel were pleased to be one of them.
The RM ICT Tour Bus rolled into the school car park on April 28 and was open from 10am until 5pm. All parents of pupils at Dalziel and staff from schools in the local area, both primary and secondary, were invited to come along and join a hands-on experience with the technology of tomorrow.
