ST AIDAN’S High School in Wishaw has said farewell to a much-loved PE teacher who has retired after almost 40 years at the school.
Gerry Reynolds, St Aidan’s longest-serving teacher, finished up at the school before the summer holidays, after an outstanding 38 years teaching there.
One of his former students, Martin Buckwell, praised Mr Reynolds who was known as a “legend”.
Martin said: “He achieved his legendary status through outstanding levels of attainment, getting the best out of his students and by teaching most of our parents.
“He was a big inspiration to do well in sports and he will be sorely missed as the school’s longest-serving teacher.”
