Family treated for inhaled fumes

Three members of the same family were taken to hospital after being overcome by toxic chemical fumes at a farm.

Strathclyde Fire and Rescue Service said the couple and their son were affected by a build-up of hydrogen sulphide gas at a slurry pit in Eaglesham, East Renfrewshire.

The service said the incident had caused the deaths of a number of cattle.
