More autonomy for judges plan
Legislation aimed at strengthening the independence of judges is coming before MSPs.
The Judiciary and Courts (Scotland) Bill also proposes to give the country's leading judge, the Lord President, formal recognition as head of the Scottish judiciary.
It is due to get its final stage reading in Parliament.
