Mystery accident leaves woman dead
A young woman has died and a teenage girl is in a serious condition in hospital after a mystery accident.
The pair, aged 20 and 17, were found lying injured on Kildrum Road, Cumbernauld at around 1am on Thursday.
Police are investigating how the women came to be injured, and are trying to piece together their movements before the incident. They said it did not appear to be a road accident.
