Salmond welcomes summit delegates

First Minister Alex Salmond has welcomed British-Irish Council delegates to Scotland ahead of a summit.

The Nationalist leader will host a council summit, the first full meeting of the body to be held in Scotland.

It is Brian Cowen's first visit to Scotland since becoming Taoiseach and Welsh Secretary Paul Murphy will represent the UK Government.
