Boxer Ryan Scott aims to impress at Steel Men show

Wishaw middleweight Ryan Scott is guaranteeing he will steal the limelight at the ‘Steel Men Return’ show on March 8 at Ravenscraig Sports Facility.

Paul Allison and Gary McCallum will battle it out for the vacant Scottish Middleweight title but after a four year gap between his debut, and his second fight Scott insists that he has it in him to win honours.

He said: “There was quite a break between my first and second fight but on my second I used this to see if I still had the magic and after six rounds with Duncan Cottier and I feel I still have a lot to offer.

“I have been training hard, working on my timing and hitting the bag. I have also been getting in some serious sparring and without going too much into it, I have gone through a few sparring partners!”

With a good training camp in the bank, the 29-year-old expects a cracking show.

He added: “The March 8 card will be a big night. Locally there is a lot of interest and I know that I will be stealing the show with a great performance and will be looking to get a knockout over my opponent Costas Osben and impress the paying fans.”

The professional show is a joint promotion presented by Prospect Boxing and Chris Gilmour.
