Bowlers prove they’re the best in the West!

THE West of Scotland Women's Bowling Association finals were held at Overtown and Waterloo Bowling Club recently.

Considering the recent bad weather, the bowlers were lucky to get a fine day on Thursday, July 31.

The standard of bowls was very high, with several matches going to the final end.

This year’s president, Cathie McGeary, was delighted with how things turned out.

She would like to thank the ladies of Overtown and Waterloo Bowling Club for working so hard and hosting finals day, caterers Danny and Jennifer Gibb, bar staff Andy and Fiona and greenkeepers, Ian and Archie.

The results were:

Foursome winners, Galston BC: Dorothy Foster, Mary Grier, Janet McVean, Margaret Henderson.

Triples winners, Clarkston BC: Margaret McIntyre, Louise Hurry, Cathie Muir.

Two Bowl Pairs winners : Blantyre BC: Kathleen Paterson, Evelyn Young.

Pairs winners, Greenfaulds BC: Madge Millerick, Joyce Miller.

Singles winner: Kirkhill BC: Anne McCormack.
