Castlehill’s young bowlers enjoy prize day despite weather

THE junior section of Castlehill Bowling Club held their closing ceremony and presentation day on the morning of Saturday, October 4.

Unfortunately, the rain flooded the green in the morning and the 13 juniors who attended were unable to get a game.

But this did not put a dampener on their day as there was a Plan B – carpet bowls.

The juniors and some adults enjoyed carpet bowls and table tennis before the presentation of prizes and a buffet lunch.

The runners-up of the closing day were Keiran Delany, Dean Jackson and Kevin Haverstock and the winners were Lauren Forgie, Katie Watson and Ryan Smillie.

The first toucher of the day was also Ryan.

The runner-up for the league was Katie Watson and league winner was John Jackson.

The championship runner-up was Andrew McJimpsey and the junior section championship winner was Ryan Smillie.

Junior convenor Amanda Muncie would like to thank all those who helped out on closing day and throughout the season.

Everyone’s support was much appreciated.

Specials thanks must also go to the juniors who presented Amanda with a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
