BOWLER Kate Watts led her team to victory in the Lanarkshire Fours Indoor Bowling Final last Wednesday.
Kate, Wilma Minican, Ena McClung and Isla Hill were ahead from the start in their final at Lanarkshire Indoor Bowling Club to claim a 16-14 success.
The four were three up at the start of the final end and despite conceding one were able to comfortably defend their lead to fend off the tough challenge of Fiona Kerr, Nancy Paterson, Marion McNally and Sheila Walker.
After the final delighted winning skip Kate said: “My three team-mates played well and I depended on them in the final that is for sure.
“I was off my game at certain points but they came in and did really well.
“It was a close game and despite our opponents fighting all the way we managed to pick it up towards the end and get the win.”
Having won four matches to claim the trophy, locally, Kate and her team now qualify for the National Finals which get under way when the new indoor season begins later in the year.
