Muir skips side to victory in Eric Baird Rosebowl

LANARKSHIRE Indoor Bowling Club’s annual Eric Baird Rosebowl competition was held last month between two evenly matched sides.

Jim Muir’s side (George Warren, Jim McGuire, Tom Agnew) fended off a fine comeback from Jack Campbell, Matt Barr, Jim Templeton and Jim Watson (skip) to claim victory by 13-9. Muir’s four led 9-3 after eight ends only to concede six shots in the next three ends as the game was levelled up at nine shots apiece.

In the final end, Muir’s team sealed the victory.

The popular competition was sponsored by Alex Baird and Sons, Dairies, from Hamilton.
