AFTER a gap of 12 years St Brigid’s won the Newmains Gala Day Bowls event recently in St Brigid’s Church Hall.

In a keenly contested final they beat Cambusnethan Miners ‘B’ team 5-3 after each team had topped their respective sections.

The winning team were Jackie Dolan (skip), Chris Drage, Jimmy Hayton and Ness Sneddon.

The runners-up were Derek Kerr (skip), David Kerr, Andy Wyness and Stewart Paton.

The organisers would like to thank the 12 competing teams, Councillors Robert McKendrick and John Taggart for their support and St Bridgid’s ladies for putting on a wonderful spread for the players.
