MOTHERWELL have rejected a £300,000-plus offer to change Fir Park’s name to Real Radio Stadium.
The broadcasters wanted to rename the stadium during the summer but chairman John Boyle said no.
A source close to the club said: “With the heritage and history of Fir Park the club felt this was the right thing to do.”
’Well have a stand named after the legendary Davie Cooper and are set to rename the main stand after late skipper Phil O’Donnell.
However the club are still hoping to tie up a deal with the commercial radio station.
Ian Stillie, Chief Executive of Motherwell Football Club said: “Real Radio and Motherwell FC have been in preliminary discussion over several potential sponsorship options.”
