Motherwell slump against Killie at Fir Park

MOTHERWELL fell one place towards the relegation zone after crashing to a 2-0 defeat against and injury-ravaged Kilmarnock team.

Killie secured the win when Italian midfielder Manuel Pascali rose in the box to get his head onto a Gavin Skelton corner ten minutes before the interval.

Motherwell found it difficult to break down Kilmarnock with keeper Alan Combe on top form despite rumours over his future with the Rugby Park club.

Kilmarnock sealed the win when Allan Russell hit an excellent strike past Graeme Smith on 80 minutes.

Motherwell will now be looking to use their game-in-hand advantage to put some distance between themselves and the bottom four when they play rock-bottom Hamilton at New Douglas Park on Saturday lunchtime.
