Inverness CT 1 - 2 Motherwell
MOTHERWELL claimed three important points this weekend after a defeating old boss Terry Butcher at his new club.
The 'Well grabbed the opener when John Sutton beat Caley keeper Ryan Esson to the ball outside the box, calmly slotting home the finish into an empty net.
Inverness replied shortly before half-time when captain Grant Munro capitalised on a scramble in the area following an Ian Black corner.
The home side began to press Motherwell in the second half but all hopes were dashed when Cillian Sheridan's wonder strike put Motherwell in the lead again, and despite their continued efforts on goal, Inverness had no response.
Motherwell are now unbeaten in nine games in the SPL.
