Hearts 2 - 1 Motherwell
MARK McGhee's men have stumbled in their efforts to maintain a top six place in the SPL after going down 2-1 away at Hearts.
Motherwell dominated in spells early in the game, but two Cillian Sheridan efforts failed to find the net.
Hearts took the lead early in the second half with a close-range header from Andrew Driver, but 'Well's Stephen Hughes levelled with a cracking shot from a free kick outside the area, shortly after hitting the bar.
Both sides looked likely to score towards the end, but it was the Edinburgh side who came out winners after a Ruben Palazuelos shot was deflected past keeper Graeme Smith.
