MOTHERWELL FC Girls got their new season underway last weekend.

It was the first season of the new summer football trial for girls football.

The under-13s started the defence of their central league championship with a resounding 11-0 win over Falkirk Academy Blues.

In the same league, the Motherwell under-13s Academy team recorded an exciting 4-3 victory over Falkirk Reds.

Motherwell under-15s, also defending league champions, ran out comfortable 10-0 winners over Drumchapel at Hamilton Palace.

The club’s under-17 side were due to kick off their campaign on Sunday but, due to an unplayable pitch, the match was postponed.
