Points shared in dull Killie encounter

Kilmarnock 0 - 0 Motherwell

NEITHER keeper was threatened as both sides fought out a drab goalless draw at Rugby Park.

Craig Bryson had a good chance for the home side early in the first half, but did little top trouble 'Well keeper Graeme Smith. Meanwhile, at the other end, a teasing cross from Stephen Hughes at the edge of the area was found by Cillian Sheridan. However, the resulting header drifted wide.

In the second half, Killie were dominant but couldn't break down the Lanarkshire side's defence while Motherwell had the two best opportunities. Jim O'Brien volleyed over the bar from a John Sutton flick and, late on, David Clarkson looked certain to score after he met the ball during a scramble in the area. His shot, however, sailed over.

Kilmarnock did have their own chances too, with Smith clawing at a Manuel Pascali header. But both sides were lacklustre in front of goal, ensuring the game finished goalless.
