Rangers 3 Motherwell 1
MOTHERWELL found themsleves outclassed by title-chasing Rangers at Ibrox.
The Fir Park men knew they were in for a tough task before 3pm on Saturday but faced an even greater uphill struggle after losing two goals in the opening 10 minutes.
Andrius Velicka fired the home side ahead from just a couple of yards after some clumsy Motherwell defending and Kris Boyd added a second with a stunning 25-yard strike.
Motherwell did get a goal back eight minutes before half time when John Sutton matched Boyd's strike with a terrific half-volley from outside the box.
But Rangers wrapped up the points midway through the second half with a Kris Boyd penalty after the referee felt that Pedro Mendez was fouled in the box.
