Steelmen set to play Europa tie at Airdrie

MOTHERWELL FC are set to play their Europa League first qualifying round tie at Airdrie's New Broomfield next month.

With Fir Park currently undergoing extensive remedial work, replacing the surface and installing new under-soil heating, the Steelmen have had to seek an alternative venue for their home leg.

The New Broomfield stadium will also host the second-round tie, should Motherwell progress.

The first leg of the qualifying round is on July 2, with the return tie a week later.

’Well return to pre-season training on Monday, when they will also find out who their first-round opponents are.

Motherwell’s first match on the new Fir Park turf will be on August 8 against Premiership side Wigan.
