Golf club juniors enjoy an away day

WISHAW golf club’s junior team attended a trip to Drumoig and St Andrew’s courses recently.

The juniors were able to play a round of golf at Drumoig and after an overnight stay, they were able to practice at the local driving range and then fine-tune their putting skills at the famous Himalayas putting area by the Old Course, St Andrews.

The trip was made possible by sponsorship from McTear Contracts Ltd.

The owner of the local company realises the importance of junior sport and was happy to provide sponsorship which allowed the young golfers to practice their skills.

Such practice has led to the junior team winning their section of the Lanarkshire league this year and finish runners up in the Lanarkshire boys’ team championship.
