CAPTAIN Eddie Higgins got the 2009 season at Wishaw Golf Club underway at the weekend.
In very difficult and windy conditions (the CSS being 71 for the day), Graham Reid won the first class on the Better Inward Half rule from Brian Naules and Alan Russell.
The best scratch score went to Stephen Nelson.
Second class went to Archie Taylor by two shots from past captain Dougie McMillan and match secretary Iain MacFie.
Stuart Shields won the third class from Russell Smith and Andy Anderson.
