Golfers contest Brogan Trophies

PLAYERS from Wishaw and Colville Park Golf Clubs recently competed for the Brogan Trophies.
Both courses were presented in excellent condition for the golfers to participate.
The first class winner, Jim McGowan also had a fantastic hole-in-one at the 11th hole.
This was a fitting climax to a great day which saw Jim win by one stroke from Paul McCafferty.
Lamont Kennedy beat Ricky Forrest on the BIH rule to take the scratch to eight class.
Alan Armit won the scratch prize at Wishaw.
At Colville Park, the second class went to Wishaw player Jim Freebairn by the BIH rule from Colville golfer R. Law.
Result: Scratch - 8; 1 Lamont Kennedy; 2 Ricky Forrest; 3 Willie Black.
Scratch: Alan Armit.
9-12: 1 Jim McGowan; 2 Paul McCafferty; 3 Kevin mcDonald.
13-16: 1 Jim Freebairn; 2 J. Owen; 3 Davie Raeside.
17-28: 1 R. Law; 2 T O’Neill; 3 John D Marshall.
The Gent’s Team finished the season winning five-and-a-half to four-and-a-half against Airdrie, with the seniors drawing away to Airdrie.
