ADVERSE weather leading up to Saturday’s competition at Wishaw Golf Club meant the course was playing longer than usual and it was fortunate the competition went ahead at all.
The first class was won by Martin Dundas on the B.I.H rule from Davie Galbraith.
The second class went the way of Gerry Leary, who held off the challenge of Martin Pickering, and the third class was won by youngster Michael O’Keane from Andy Anderson and Craig Murphy.
Results: first class, 1, Martin Dundas, 76-8-68 (B.I.H); 2, Davie Galbraith, 74-6-68; 3, John Murdoch, 78-9-69 (B.I.H).
Second class, 1, Gerry Leary, 80-14-66; 2, Martin Pickering, 81-13-68; 3, Gus Kilmurray, 80-11-69.
Third Class, 1, Michael O’Keane, 87-21-66; 2, Andy Anderson, 87-20-67 (B.I.H); 3, Craig Murphy, 86-19-67.
This week’s competitions include The Joe Baker Memorial Trophy on Thursday with a 12.30pm shotgun start.
The Autumn meeting for the Colin Baird Rosebowl takes place on Saturday.
