Wishaw Golf Club latest

WISHAW Golf Club members have been involved in various competitions recently.

Mixed overhead conditions greeted the players as they competed in the Sweepstake, Hall of Fame and AJ Moir qualifiers.

Ross Murdoch won the first class by one shot from Scott Durno.

Martin Gillespie pipped Harry Yule and Gus Kilmurray by one shot in the second class.

Grainger Gibson secured victory in the third class by a single shot from Graham Marshall (junior).

The Hall of Fame winner was Gus Kilmurray.

1, Ross Murdoch, 76-9-67; 2, Scott Durno, 72-4-68; 3, Stuart Allan, 78-9-69 (B.I.H); 4, Brendan O’Keane, 75-6-69 (B.I.H).

Second class:

1, Martin Gillespie, 79-12-67; 2, Harry Yule, 83-15-68; 3, Gus Kilmurray, 79-11-68; 4, Robert Ferguson, 84-15-69 (B.I.H).

Third class:

1, Grainger Gibson, 81-17-64; 2, Graham Marshall (junior); 3, Willie Cunningham, 87-19-68; 4, Jim Bradley, 85-16-69 (B.I.H).

Ladies, Nelson Trophy First Round:

Division One, 1, Jean Maddock, 94-20-74; 2, Irene Morrison, 95-20-75.

Division Two, 1, Theresa Dorman, 96-25-71 (B.I.H); 2, Helen McGinness, 95-24-71.

The winners of the Laurie Cup (mixed foursomes) were Paul and Theresa Dorman with 63.5.

This week Wishaw Golf Club (from Birmingham), visit to play for the David Maclean Trophy.

The competitions this week are the Tom Baird Salver and Belhaven Best Qualifier.

The Ladies play the Jubilee Qualifier.

On Saturday there is a race night.
