SATURDAY’S Stableford at Wishaw Golf Club was played in great weather conditions which accounted for the good scores in all classes.

In the first class, three players had the same score, with Gerry McKeown prevailing from youngster James Walkinshaw and Graeme Irvine on the BIH rule.

David Robinson pipped Joe McGuinness by one point in the second class and Craig Murphy won the third class from Joe Bradley, also by one point.

Result: First class, 1, Gerry McKeown, 41 points (BIH); 2, James Walkinshaw, 41 (BIH); 3, Graeme Irvine, 41; 4, Paul Reid, 40.

Second class, 1, David Robinson, 41; 2, Joe McGuinness, 40; 3, Tom Dallas, 39; 4, Gordon Meek, 37.

Third class, 1, Craig Murphy, 40; 2, Jim Bradley, 39; 3, W.A Smith, 38 (BIH); 4, Cammy Thomson, 38.

Ladies: The Margaret Higgins Trophy, First Round, Div 1, Nicola McLuckie, 82-10-72; Div 2, Moira Winkler, 92-25-67.

The Ladies Texas Scramble was won by M Winkler, E Drennan, M Carty and V McCallum (66.3).

This week’s competitions are the John Campbell Millenium Trophy for gents and the Margaret Higgins Trophy for Ladies.
