THERE was an excellent turnout for the Ford Trophy at Wishaw Golf Club last weekend.
The condition of the course also contributed to the low scores, with youngster Callum Connacher producing an excellent round to pip John McCann by one shot in the first class.
Connacher’s performance saw him land the Ford Trophy on the B.I.H rule from Paddy Dunn.
Dunn won the second class by two shots from four other players.
New club member John Docherty held off Steve McCall by a single shot in the third class.
Results: First class, 1, Callum Connacher, 68-4-64; 2, John McCann, 71-6-65; 3, Craig Adair, 73-6-67 (B.I.H); 4, Tom Moffat, 74-7-67. Second class, 1, Paddy Dunn, 77-13-64; 2, John McCabe, 79-13-66 (B.I.H); 3, Martin O’Donnelly, 78-12-66 (B.I.H); 4, John McGuire, 79-13-66 (B.I.H).
Third class, 1, John Docherty, 85-18-67; 2, Steve McCall, 84-16-68; 3, Stuart Dowie, 87-18-69 (B.I.H); 4, Colin Murray, 87-18-69.
