WISHAW Golf Club held their annual pro-am on Sunday.
A top-class field of Tartan Tour Professionals took part in the event, with former Wishaw club champion Fraser McLaughlin (Bothwell Castle) posting a five-under-par total of 64 to secure victory.
Former Shotts member Mark King set a tough target early on coming in with a three-under 66 which was still leading with just 10 matches left out on the course.
However King had to settle for second place after McLaughlin’s terrific round of 64.
Main sponsor United Taxis were pleased with how well the pro-am was organised.
Meanwhile, Wishaw Golf Club members took part in the Magners Qualifier and Sweepstake at the weekend.
In great conditions, Michael Carty continued his good form to win the first class from Scott Marr.
The second class was closely fought but veteran Guy Sinclair prevailed from a further five players who finished on the same score.
New member Martin Fisher took the third class from Kelvin Healey and Grainger Gibson.
Results: first class, Michael Carty, 71-9-62; 2, Scott Marr, 73-8-65; 3, Connor McLeod, 70-4-66 (B.I.H); Liam McGarry, 74-8-66 (B.I.H); scratch, Connor McLeod, 70.
