Rugby: Tribute to Dalziel stalwart

ALAN CALDER, a stalwart of Dalziel Rugby Club for 40 years, who died suddenly in January 2008, has been awarded a Posthumous Spirit of Rugby Award by the Scottish Rugby Union.

To mark this, Dalziel have arranged a match between a President's XV and Dalziel 1st XV on Saturday at 2pm at Dalziel Park.

The youth section Family Fun Day will also take place that day.

The award will be presented to Maggie Calder in a ceremony after the game. Alan's son Graham will captain the President's XV.
